About Me

My story

Hello and welcome to Blooming Minds! My name is Claudia Irina and I am a licensed teacher in both MInnesota and Iowa. With 7 years of experience in education, I am extremely passionate about helping students achieve their full potential while developing a lifelong love of learning.

I have recently relocated to Iowa and decided to start my own practice after working in a charter school for 7 years. Working as an intervention specialist the last year has played a large role in wanting to branch out on my own. It has been extremely rewarding getting to work with students in grades K-8 in small group settings and providing them with direct, systematic and sequential instruction. Seeing the students I work with make growth, overcome obstacles and gain new skills academically and personally has been incredibly fulfilling.

Qualifications & Experience

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and a Master’s degree in Education. I am also an Executive Functions Consultant and have extensive training in the Science of Reading (an Orton-Gillingham based approach).

I have taught in a charter school in Minnesota for 7 years and have tutored students ages K-8 during that time as well.

Philosophy & Approach

I believe that every student has the potential to succeed, and that with the right guidance and support, they can reach their goals. I place the needs and goals of every student at the center, while recognizing that they have their own learning style, weaknesses and strengths.

It is my belief that students should have clear learning objectives with each session in order to create a structured learning path along with constructive feedback in order to identify areas for improvement and reinforce strengths. I also use data to drive instruction and conduct regular assessments to evaluate students’ understanding and progress.

Aside from academic support, I recognize the importance of emotional well-being and motivation in the learning process. I strive to help students build confidence, resilience and a growth mindset during our time together.

“A good teacher can inspire hope, ignite the imagination, and instill a love of learning. ”
